Breakout Session 39: AASHTO: Key Initiatives from Leading US Highway and Transportation Departments
Break Out Session
Session Description
Moving people and goods safely and efficiently are the goals of transportation system management and operations (TSMO) which have been greatly enabled by ITS technologies. While transportation challenges are common globally, the situations vary widely and leaders respond with creative solutions that are most appropriate for their specific conditions. Nevertheless, there are lessons and applications that can be adapted for other jurisdictions. Six executives from American state and local transportation agencies will present their priority challenges and ITS initiatives planned or underway aimed at addressing such mobility needs.
