Ara Najarian has served as a member of the Glendale City Council since 2005 and has served as Mayor for four terms. Ara is current Chairman of the Board of Directors of the c (MTA). He served as MTA Chairman from 2009 -2010. Ara is also current Board Member of Metrolink (SCRRA). Ara has been a member of the San Fernando Valley Council of Governments representing Glendale since 2010 and has served two years as Chairman. Ara currently sits on the board of directors of the Hollywood Burbank Airport Authority.
Najarian has been an attorney in private practice in Glendale for 30 years. He received a BA in Economics from Occidental College and a J.D. from the USC School of Law. Ara has worked for Pasadena area U.S. Congressman Carlos Moorehead in Washington D.C. and in the LA County District Attorney’s office. He has presided as a mediator and Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles Superior Courts.
Ara is the father of two boys and is married to national news anchor Palmira Perez.
