Carol Schweiger has over 43 years of experience, and is nationally and internationally recognised in transportation technology consulting. She has wide-ranging and in-depth expertise in several specialty areas, including technology and mobility strategies for public agencies, public transport technology, traveller information strategies and systems, and systems  engineering.

Ms. Schweiger has provided over 75 transportation agencies with technology technical assistance.  She co-developed and was the lead instructor for five transit technology training courses for the National Transit Institute (NTI) and seven modules regarding traveler information standards and transport management standards for the US Department of Transportation. She has also authored numerous Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) Synthesis reports and full TCRP reports. 

She is the immediate past Co-Chair of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Committee on Emerging and Innovative Public Transport and Technologies, an author for and on the Advisory Board of Intelligent Transport (a UK magazine), a Charter Member of the Mobility on Demand Committee of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America), member of the International Program Committee of the ITS World Congress, and member of a variety of other transport and mobility technology committees. She received the 2022 Woman of the Year award from WTS Rhode Island.
