Professional Bio
Danny is a 25 year veteran of the ITS industry and has specialised in the development and delivery of real time traffic information, telematics and connected vehicle projects, He is currently based in the UK but has worked extensively in Europe and Australia for a number of years in operational, business development and service delivery roles. In 2015 Danny established Chiltech Limited as a specialist ITS project consultancy to extend his knowledge and experience to clients across the transport and connected vehicle sector. He represents German software company GEWI AG where he is responsible for international business and market development. Danny has recently undertaken projects relating to telematics, eCall, connected-vehicles and dynamic kerbside management in the freight and delivery sector. In 2019 Chiltech was awarded funding under the UK’s Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) and sponsored by Highways England, (now National Highways), to research the use of eCall for incident and stopped vehicle detection, further eCall related projects have been delivered and in 2022 this led to Danny and his industry associates established VESOS Solutions Ltd., which specialises in eCall advisory and data analysis projects, and has developed IP for using eCall data to generate road incident alerts. Chiltech was part of a European team, led by Mott MacDonald, on a CEDR sponsored project called (SHADAR) - Stopped vehicle Hazards – Avoidance, Detection and Response, part of the CEDR 2019 research programme Safe Smart Highways. The study evaluated technology and methods for stopped vehicles and hazards across the European road networks.
