Professor Ioni Lewis has been working in road safety and traffic psychology for over 20 years. She is based at the Queensland University of Technology’s (QUT) Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety (CARRS-Q) where she is a Principal Research Fellow. Ioni’s expertise is in the development and evaluation of road safety public education and advertising campaigns. Among her recent projects, Ioni has been developing and evaluating such messaging for Cooperative and Automated Vehicles to raise awareness of such vehicle technologies and to enhance their acceptance and future use. Her work draws upon social psychological perspectives of behaviour prediction and health behaviour change.
