Niki Georgiou is a Senior Researcher at the I-SENSE Group of ICCS. She has obtained her Bachelor in Civil Engineering from the University of Patras in 2001 and her MSc on Analysis and Design of Earthquake Resistant Structures from the National Technical University of Athens in 2003. She has acted as prime contractor in a series of  technical studies in both the private and public works field. She has served as supervisor in large structural projects while acted as quality manager in many of them. She has focused her studies and research interests in the monitoring of transport infrastructure where she has pioneered in sensing and computer vision techniques. In the recent years she has been working on the introduction of AVs into actual operation from the infrastructure point of view. She has participated in a number of European projects mainly dealing with remote sensing tecniques, inspection, assessment and maintenance. She is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2001.
