In Korea, micro-mobility secured legal status with the establishment of related laws in July 2018. The National Police Agency prohibits entry into automobile-only roads for safety reasons in the event of an accident with micro-mobility. Korea's micro-mobility industry has a characteristic that services are mainly provided by small and medium-sized enterprises. Therefore, there is a limit to systematically guaranteeing safety. Research is needed to secure reliability and safety through the development of vehicle information terminals and platforms.
It can be divided into two categories of this study. First, data generated in the life cycle of micro-mobility is analyzed by developing a vehicle terminal and establishing a data collection system. Second, the relevant legal system is improved by establishing standards for driving roads exclusively for automobiles through data verification of micro-mobility.
Data for establishing operating standards are as follows. It is divided into vehicle's Car Area Network (CAN) and sensor-based vehicle driving data, driving environment data such as traffic conditions and weather, user control data, vehicle maintenance data, vehicle driving history, and user driving pattern data. And it is analyzed and processed on a big data platform.
Terminal and platform were built to verify the reliability and safety of micro-mobility based on data. In addition, two amendments to the law were drawn, and a pilot operation is currently being discussed with the National Police Agency in charge of related systems for the operation of motorways.
