Talk Description
Institution: La Trobe University - VIC, Australia
This presentation shows how innovation for people with disability is spearheading benefits for all end users.
It will share the findings and video's of recently completed Accessibility projects:
1. Giving control over Automated Vehicles to People with Disability (Partners: HMI, iMOVE)
End users can operate an Automated Shuttle as simple and safe as operating an elevator, with their mobile phones.
See the video of the project here: https://youtu.be/EsUE_R-sn_Y
2. Be in, Be out: How to deliver a frictionless experience for People with Disability (Partners: TfNSW, iMOVE)
End users will be able to walk in and walk out without having to worry about tickets. This will benefit people with disability, but eventually everyone. There isn't a one-size-fits-all technology solution and this presentation will show global best practices as well as the pros and the cons of the options investigated.
Finally, a future vision for the role of technology in equitable transport will be presented including the most salient use cases.
