By 2050 it is predicted 70% of the world’s population will live in dense urban cities. These cities globally face increasing problems in managing demand, rising air pollution and traffic congestion. When managing these complex urban areas, connectivity to the network and decision intelligence is key; what becomes vital is this approach is access to trusted data that is generated by multiple sources from roadside sensors to mobile phones. In this presentation, we will examine the role data plays in planning and making decisions to improve our network and achieve higher situational awareness through deploying a unified mobility data platform to better manage a transport network.
