Elena is a Senior Engineer within the Intelligent Transport Services (ITS) sector with over 8 years’ experience working in three different areas of practice: ITS Systems and Infrastructure engineer solutions, Business Information Analytics (BIA) and Operational and Safety consultancy services in UK, and more recently in Australia as NELSA ITS East package lead. She previously worked on a variety of National Highways projects providing technical solutions, ITS infrastructure design and simultaneously performed BIA’s role supporting Directors, Regional Leads and Project Managers.

Elena has developed and exercised these capabilities while working on dozens of regionally and nationally significant projects, both in the UK and more recently in Australia, where she started working on Jan’23. Elena works in researching, assessing, and implementing innovative technologies into schemes at preliminary and detailed design stages, including CCTV, radar, variable message signage, sensors, signalling and 4G/5G telecommunications equipment.

Her work has also contributed significantly to pilot and testing environments in UK in Connected Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) services in 2018, sensors, signs, as well as processing, analysing and visualising data using innovative tools, such as Microsoft Power BI. Her most recent work has been in CAV testbeds and CCTV performance insights, ranging from motorways to entire regions as ITS Design Lead Engineer and in developing training and operational practice scenarios for the National Highways Technology Operations Centre Team in UK.
