Professor Simon Washington is currently Managing Director of Advanced Mobility Analytics Group (AMAG), based in Brisbane, QLD. AMAG currently employs a team of 40 and has tested or delivered its SMART Platform technology in more than 50 cities across 8 countries. During the previous nearly three decades Simon held academic appointments and leadership positions at the Georgia Institute of Technology, UC Berkeley, the University of Queensland, and Queensland University of Technology.  Simon is an active researcher in road safety and operations and has co-authored more than 300 technical papers and 2 textbooks, and has won numerous awards for professional contributions. Simon left academia to build industry leading technology to enable governments to save lives, prevent crashes, and to help lead a paradigm shift in how safety is managed globally.
