Kolitha is qualified with a degree of Doctor of Philosophy successfully completed the WCS recently at the Management and Science University, Malaysia and his main research area is determining the factors of road traffic accident and incident management system, further he has published number of research papers in an international forum, conferences, journals in engineering, technical advancement in automotive, motor insurance field and management scopes. He is an experienced automotive engineer and management and business consultant counting over 17 years of experience in the automotive industry as well headed in different organization at senior position in top management; out of which over 11 years of experience in the insurance sector. He has held senior positions such as Head of Operation, Assistant General Manager and Chief Motor Engineer positions and heading claim, motor, engineering and customer care divisions of leading Insurance companies in Sri Lanka. He is also experienced in motor trade as head of after sales, head of fleet management in leading automotive franchise dealers and construction companies. He is further possessing hands on experience in setting up new Motor, Claims, Engineering and Customer care divisions from scratch and business consultancy for several trade workshops and a well reputed resource personal in the industry. 

•       Currently Kolitha  is the President of the institute of Insurance Motor assessors and engineers of Sri Lanka and holds the Course Directorship as well as the General Secretary position of the  Institute of Automotive Engineers of Sri Lanka.

•       Further Kolitha is a well reputed lecturer counting over 15 years of lecturing experience for professional examinations in the field of Engineering and management and recognized as a professional industrial trainer in the sector.

•       He holds an MBA from the University of Wolverhampton UK and completed his first Degree, B. Eng. (Hons) Automotive Systems Engineering, also from the same university with a first class division.

•       Kolitha possesses several Certificates of Diploma in Automotive Engineering & Maintenance Management from City & Guilds (UK), Engineering Council (UK), National Institute of Business Management (Sri Lanka) and medal for excellence in Motor Vehicle Management - 2007 from City & Guilds UK was the winner of the first place in the world for the academic year 2007 in the stream of motor vehicle engineering for the qualification, Diploma in Motor Vehicle Engineering from City & Guilds – UK and advanced automotive engineer certification from institute of motor industry (UK), member of Charted professional managers and having many more professional memberships in local and overseas professional institutions. 

•       Further he was held the following positions at professional organizations as; 

ü Founder,  Vice-president,  Chairman of News, Publication & Seminar organizing committee of IIMESL, 

ü Chairman of Steering committee of IIMAESL

ü Course Director of the Institute of Automotive Engineers - Sri Lanka

ü Chairman – of the International Research and Technical Symposium in 2015

ü   Secretary of Technical & Valuation panel/Chairman of Membership committee - Institute of Automotive Engineers - Sri Lanka

Currently he is serving as the Chairman/ Managing director of Meridian group and director/ consultant of the RTA associates, Director/ Chairman/ consultant/ lecturer of Meridian auto care (Pvt) Ltd, founder chairman/ consultant of Meridian Ceylon (Arogya) Ayurvedic medical center/ traditional pharmacy and training institute and represents several professional organizations of SAEs in the world.
