Talk Description
Institution: Jacobs, Hyundai Motor Company - Australia
Jacobs supported Hyundai Motor Group's (HMG) smart city and innovation division as a technical advisor to develop a medium to long term future mobility plan for the Jurong Innovation District (JID) in Singapore. We developed a suite of transport modelling tools to assess, plan and develop an integrated future mobility plan and optimised service provision utilising existing, emerging and new modes. These included:
- Autonomous & electric shared mobility and other fixed route and dynamic demand responsive services based on HMG’s Mobility as a Service models and modes
The work also included a comprehensive community and business engagement survey program. This was to identify issues, barriers and challenges related mobility for employers, employees and residents travelling to and from JID as well as locally. The engagement surveys allowed the team to engage with the users & stakeholders and obtain a grasp of the opportunities and gaps in the transport network that can potentially be filled by new mobility options, with a focus on enhancing access to the MRT.
Transport modelling tools were then utilised to provide an evidence base to complete a mobility plan which aligned to strategic objectives, addressed user concerns and provided a unique value proposition and benefit for all stakeholders involved. This included assessment of pricing, commercial models and deployment roadmap.
